Manchester United teamed up with Extreme Networks to provide the latest Wi-Fi6 network at Old Trafford

Last year, Extreme Networks became the club’s official provider of Wi-Fi network solutions and Wi-Fi analysis, promising to provide the latest generation of Wi-Fi connections for hundreds of thousands of fans visiting Dream Theater every season around the stadium. The project is large in scale, with more than 1600 access points installed and the Wi-Fi 6 technology under the seat, which is the largest in similar projects in Britain. More than 4,000 installation points, more than 10,000 seats were temporarily removed and replaced, and more than 90 miles of cables were installed throughout the stadium, providing fans with the latest generation of wireless connection services.
In the Premier League opening match against Wolves on August 14, the Wi-Fi signal will be newly launched. In the last few games of last season, more than 120000 fans enjoyed faster and more reliable network connections before, during and after the match. Ultra-high speed connectivity complements the club’s growing range of digital products, including mobile ticketing and membership rewards, and provides the best platform for the club to explore new immersive services, to further improve the game day experience of watching on the court or in the distance.
Extreme Networks will support Manchester United’s access to real-time network analysis to promote more personalized and wise decisions in fan experience and overall venue operation.
